About Astrid Schubring

Astrid is a senior lecturer at IKI. She teaches in the ‘Sports Coaching’, the ‘Physical Education Teacher’ and the 'Sport Science Master' programme. In her research she is interested in (youth) elite sport, social dimensions of health and illness, youth sociology and qualitative research methods. Astrid is a member of the SCoPE group.

Prior to her employment at Gothenburg University, Astrid has been a researcher in ‘The German Young Olympic Athlete and Health Study’, and a lecturer in sport pedagogy at the University of Heidelberg.
