About Christel Larsson

Christel Larsson works as professor in food and nutrition at the department. She is a trained nutritionist at Stockholm University and earned a Masters degree in Public Health at the Karolinska Institut and a Master degree in Food and Nutrition at Umeå University. In 2001 she became the first doctorate in food and nutrition in Sweden with a thesis on young people's food habits and health. She has received the Kungliga Skytteanska samfundets prize for young researchers and the food company Dr. Pers Food's research prize.

Christel conducts research and teaches primarily in food habits of children and adolescents and dietary assessment methodology. Several ongoing studies aim to promote healthy food habits and physical activity among children, adolescents and adults. She has supervised/supervises PhD-students in food & nutrition, Sport Science and public health & epidemiology.
